Plant Lover’s Journey To the Green Mountain State
Renewing our Traditions - a Vermont Farm Venture
August 4 ~ 8, 2010
As we travel around the world on our wonderful Plant Lover’s Journey’s, I’ve often dreamt about doing a journey in Vermont. Truly, one of the most beautiful plant rich places on earth, Vermont offers so much to experience, enjoy and appreciate. There are the small charming villages, many unchanged since the 1700’s; there are the stunning Green Mountains; Lake Champlain and the broad river valleys; there are numerous small farms, herbalists, goat farmers and cheese makers, vintage wineries and farmers markets and craft fairs to visit and enjoy. Beyond all of this, Vermont offers a sustainable and sane way of living that is hungered for in today’s world.
We invite you to join us on our first Plant Lover’s Journey to Vermont. We’ll journey down the back roads and byways to some of our most beautiful villages and rural areas. Along the way we’ll visit small farms and meet with farmers and herbalists to discuss how they are revitalizing traditional farming methods and creating sustainable livelihoods as they go. We’ll taste and sample all that’s delicious in Vermont from freshly baked bread, to newly harvested vegetables, herbs, fruits, local wines and cheeses. Dining will be a scrumptious affair as we’ll be served meals prepared from delicious farm fresh food and local ingredients.
Plant Lover’s Journey’s are designed to be part vacation, part inspiration, and part educational ~ and lots of fun. We are excited about inviting you to journey with us in our beautiful state of Vermont and the opportunity to ‘show it off’. We’ll visit some of our most special sites experiencing the beauty of nature. And learn from the herbalists and farmers that have made their homes in these little valleys and rugged hillsides and are renewing the farming traditions that honor the earth and the natural cycles of life.
