Beyond Herbology 101

Developing Essential Tools of Herbal Practice
with Rosemary Gladstar,
Margi Flint & Sandra Lory
October 3 ~ 6, 2013

Beyond Herbology 101 has consistently been one of our favorite and most popular programs on Sage Mountain. We generally invite two teachers and Rosemary to discuss topics of interest for the intermediate to advanced students of herbalism. We decided to offer it once again for those intermediate students of herbalism who wish to develop and hone their skills of herbal practice.

This year Beyond Herbology will focus on:

The skills of Herbal Intake ~ refining and developing your ‘intake process’

Cupping for Herbalists ~ an essential ‘old time’ practice for modern health care

Creating effective formulas ~ develop your skills of blending and create formulas that specifically and effectively address the situation & person.

Reading the Body ~ facial and tongue diagnosis

Reading Pulses ~ how to effectively take and ‘read’ pulses

Hone your Plant Identification Skills ~ we’ll go on several herb walks to expand our knowledge of our wild and cultivated medicinal herbs

Starting a Community Herbal Practice ~ Learn from three community herbalists how to set up and start an herbal practice including an herbal clinic in your area

Whether these skills are new to you, or you have already begun your studies on these subjects, Beyond Herbology will help you further develop these essential tools of herbal practice. Margi Flint, Sandra Lory and Rosemary Gladstar have all been practicing community herbalists for many years, are well known and skillful teachers and are delighted to share their knowledge, wisdom and love of plants with you.

This four-day intensive includes 6-8 hours of class time daily, with time in between for herb walks, garden strolls, soaking in the outdoor hot tub, and an evening sauna in our large wood fired cedar sauna.
