Sage Mountain Advanced Training Program
We’re happy to announce that we’ll be offering the Sage Mountain Advanced Training Program again on Sage Mountain in 2012 and hope you can join us. One of our most popular programs, the Advanced Herbal Training Program is designed to provide a stimulating course of studies for the intermediate/advanced student of herbalism that will inspire, challenge and augment your current level of knowledge. It is an excellent program for those who wish to continue their herbal studies for self-interest and family health care as well as those who are studying to become practicing community herbalists.
Each year we invite several of our favorite herbal teachers to teach the program so students are exposed to a variety of teachers. We’ve selected the format of a ‘body system a month’ as a coherent framework in which to organize information. The course also covers a variety of other topics as well including assessment skills, constitutional herbalism, different system approaches to herbalism and the `how to’s’ of setting up a home practice. In addition, there’s an optional Botany & Plant Identification class offered each Friday afternoon.
Following are the key points of the program
Synopsis: This program is designed to provide the opportunity for apprentices and intermediate students of herbalism to pursue their herbal studies in a focused and systematic manner with some of the best herbal instructors in the country. The Advanced Training Program picks up where Rosemary’s apprentice program left off. Students will have the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to become practicing community herbalists as well as skills for self and family health care. Each month’s program will cover a specific body system and corresponding herbs and herbal therapies. Instructors have been selected for their ability to provide information in a stimulating informative manner and include some of the countries best herbal practitioners and teachers.
There will be some homework and time involved outside class for projects and study (approximately 4-5 additional hours a month). The weekend class will run from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon with an optional Friday afternoon Botany and Plant ID class.
