Renewing our Traditions a Plant Lover’s Journey to the Green Mountain State
with Rosemary Gladstar & Robert Chartier
August 4 ~ 8th, 2010
“Leave Provence to the Provencals, and Tuscany to the Tuscans the world is sweet enough right here”
~ Bill McKibben on Vermont
As we traveled the world on our Plant Lover’s Journeys, we often dreamt of offering a journey to Vermont. Last year we offered our first trip to Vermont and had such a great time and received such outstanding feedback, we couldn’t wait to do it again….Truly, one of the most beautiful plant rich places on earth, Vermont offers an endless variety of things to experience, enjoy and appreciate. There are the small charming villages, many unchanged since the 1700’s; the stunning Green Mountains; and Lake Champlain, considered the 6th Great Lake in North America. There are numerous small farms, goat farmers and artisan cheese makers, herbalists, vintage wineries, farmers’ markets and craft fairs. Beyond all of this, Vermont offers a sustainable and sane way of living that is hungered for in today’s world.
Women Shamanism Spirituality and Healing Plants with Rocio Alarcon, Dona Enriqueta Contreras, and Rosemary Gladstar
August 27 ~ 29, 2010
We invite you to join us for this special opportunity to study with three powerful wise woman shaman/healers, Rocio Alarcon, Dona Enriqueta Contreras and Rosemary Gladstar. This workshop will provide the opportunity to deepen your connection to the earth, plants and your own inherent healing power. Amidst powerful teachings that flow direct from the heart, there will be the opportunity to participate in ceremonies that help connect us to Mother Earth and our ancestors. Sage Mountain, a beautiful mountain retreat center located in Central Vermont, is the perfect place to host this workshop, because the nature spirits here are so strong and so willing to work with us.
The Spirit & Essence of Herbalism Apprentice Program with Rosemary Gladstar
Meets one week in 2010: September 5~12 And One Week in 2011: May 21 ~ 28, 2011
Includes the Science & Art of Herbalism Home Study Course
This is Rosemary’s most popular program. Rosemary’s been asked so often to teach her apprentice programs again, that she gladly decided to offer it once again this year but only in the two week format which makes it easier for long distant students to attend. An outstanding herbal educational experience, Rosemary’s Apprenticeship combines didactic study with practical hands on learning. Included as part of the Apprentice Program is The Science and Art of Herbalism, a comprehensive home study course. The apprentice program follows the format of this excellent correspondence course but augments it with the necessary hands-on experience and the wonderful support of like-minded people. Though the program meets for only two full weeks, there is a full year of learning provided in the course outline and through the home study program.
Classes often meet outdoors, in the gardens and the surrounding countryside as well as our beautiful yurt classroom. Activities are hands on with lots of opportunities to work with and experience the healing power of plants directly. We’ll identify, harvest and prepare the herbs as we learn them; go on field trips to local growers and herb farms; experience ceremonies and sacred plant medicine; play with the beauty of the plants making natural cosmetics as well as many medicinal preparations.
- We’re in the preliminary planning stages for a winter trip to Hawaii and New Zealand (February or March of 2011) and a summer trip) to Alaska (July or August 2011).
Please inquire if interested. - Planning Ahead to 2011 ~ Plant Lover’s Journey’s to Hawaii, New Zealand, and Alaska.
