Please note: The 2008 Advanced Herbal Training Program is Full.

A Unique Opportunity to Further Your Studies on Sage Mountain with some of the Countries Leading Herbalists

Rosemary Gladstar

This program is one of our most popular classes and provides an excellent opportunity for intermediate/advanced students of herbalism to pursue their herbal studies in a focused and systematic manner with some of the best herbal instructors in the country.

Students have the opportunity to further their herbal education, develop skills necessary to become practicing community herbalists and to hone their skills as practitioners. Each month’s program covers a specific body system and corresponding herbs and herbal therapies, as well as diagnostic tools, constitutional herbalism, botany, anatomy & physiology review, plant spirit medicine and other topics of interest to practicing herbalists.

Instructors are all well known herbal practitioners who have been selected for their ability to provide information in a stimulating informative manner. There will be homework and some time involved outside class for projects and studies.

The weekends run from Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. Friday afternoons are spent in round table discussions studying case histories and/ or seeing clients. Emphasis is on peer review and feedback. Friday evening is a general lecture that will cover a variety of subjects. Saturday and Sunday are full intense days of study with our guest speaker.

Science & Art of Herbology

Science and Art of Herbology
Many of our students have written telling us that this course has been transformational and one of the most self- empowering studies they have undertaken.
How can a home study course be life transforming?
Perhaps it is because of the nature of the subject.

The Science & Art of Herbology guides you into the very heart of herbalism. It instills in the student both the necessary skills to practice this ancient healing art as well as a profound understanding of the spirit and essence of herbalism.

Rosemary Gladstar, your instructor throughout this course, brings a wealth of herbal knowledge, excellent training skills, and a passionate love of herbs to this course. Written in an inspiring and joyful manner, The Science & Art of Herbalism was designed specifically for students requesting a systematic, in-depth study of herbs but who were unable to attend full time residential herb programs. It contains a depth of knowledge and a lively student/teacher interaction seldom found in home study courses.

The course emphasizes:

  • The Foundations of Herbalism
  • Wild Plant Identification
  • Medicinal Herbology
  • Herb Gardening
  • Herbal Preparation
  • Natural Cosmetics
  • Medicinal Formulation
  • Earth Awareness & Ceremony
  • Techniques of Harvesting, Drying & Storing Plants
