Along with hosting the 23rd Annual Women’s Herbal Conference at Sargent Camp and the 3rd Annual Sacred Teachings of the Plants Conference, we’re also offering several excellent classes at Sage Mountain this summer. We invite you to join us for our 24th year of programs at Sage Mountain!
June 19, 11-4: Wild Plant Identification Walk with Rosemary Gladstar.
- There’s no better way to learn about plants than from the plants themselves! Join Rosemary as we stroll through the beautiful gardens, into the woodlands and meadows of Sage Mountain. Class will meet rain or shine. Bring comfortable walking shoes, a notebook, and picnic lunch. Registration: $55 includes tea and snacks.

June 23 ~ 27th: Herbs for Family Health; an Introduction to Herbalism with Rosemary Gladstar.
- Join Rosemary Gladstar for a wonderful introduction into the world of herbs. Class will emphasize Herbs for Family Health and will include hands on activities: learn to make herbal products, create an herbal first aide kit, use herbal remedies for home health care, make natural skin care products and learn to identify wild edible and medicinal plants. A joyful fun empowering introduction into the use of herbs for health, healing and well being.
- Registration: $375 includes all materials, handouts, samples, camping or indoor dormitory style lodging and meals.

July 23 ~ 25: Third Annual Sacred Teachings of the Plants Conference; Exploring the Heart of Green Medicine.
- Do you yearn to speak the largely forgotten language of plants? To develop a deep personal connection with these elder beings? Are you studying herbs, but find you spend more time than you wish learning about them from books? Close the books for a little while….Using ceremony, ritual, herb walks, story telling, song and celebration we’ll venture into the sacred realm of the plants and allow them to enter us as our teachers. Join several well known and respected Plant Spirit Medicine teachers as we explore our ever evolving relationship with the healing power of plants.
- Teachers include: Brooke Medicine Eagle, Pam Montgomery, Kathleen Maier, Susan Grimaldi, Amy Goodman Kiefer, Rosemary Gladstar and others still to be announced.

August 4 ~ 8; Renewing Our Traditions ~ A Plant Lover’s Journey to Vermont.
- Truly, one of the most beautiful plant rich places on earth, Vermont offers small charming villages, many unchanged since the 1700’s; the stunning Green Mountains; Lake Champlain and the broad river valleys; there are numerous small farms, goat farmers and artisan cheese makers, herbalists, vintage wineries, farmers markets and craft fairs. Beyond all of this, Vermont offers a sustainable and sane way of living that is hungered for in today’s world. We’ll journey down the back roads and byways to some of our most beautiful villages and rural areas. Along the way we’ll visit small farms and meet with farmers and herbalists to discuss how they are revitalizing traditional farming methods. We’ll taste and sample all that’s delicious in Vermont from freshly baked bread, to newly harvested vegetables, herbs, fruits, local wines and cheeses.

August 27 ~ 29: Women Shamanism, Spirituality and Healing Plants with Rocio Alarcon (Ecuador) and Dona Enriqueta (Oaxaca).
- A remarkable opportunity to study with two powerful women shamans. A deeply compassionate healer and spiritual teacher, Rocio received her teachings from her mother, grandmother and shamans of the Amazonian Rainforest and Andes of Ecuador. Dona Enriqueta is a renowned elder and Shaman from Oaxaca. These two women stand rooted in their power and will share with us healing ceremonies and practices to enhance our personal health and healing work.

September 8 ~ 12; Herbs, Ceremony and Spirituality ~ a Plant Lover’s Journey to Vermont.
- Several of the travelers in our first Plant Lover’s Journey to Vermont wanted to return and asked if we would offer a trip that featured herbs, ceremony and sacred sites. So here it is…. This journey will be a joyful adventure through the Green Mountain State and will feature visits to sacred sites, mountain vistas, teachings on Sacred Plant Medicine, earth ceremonies, and a purification lodge. We will also include visits to our favorite herb farms and to Perennial Pleasures for herb walks and tea in the gardens.

Planning Ahead to 2011 ~ Plant Lover’s Journey’s to Hawaii, New Zealand, and Alaska.
- We’re in the preliminary planning stages for a winter trip to Hawaii and New Zealand (February or March of 2011) and a summer trip) to Alaska (July or August 2011).
