A Plant Lovers Journey to the Patagonia, Argentina and Chile

March 1 to 12, 2011

Patagonia!! A place of vast and stunning vistas and wild untamed beauty.... An amazing diversity of climates and plants spanning the stark desert beauty to the highest Andes snow capped peaks, pristine glaciers to virgin forests. Our Plant Lovers journey to Patagonia has been designed to immerse oneself in the magic and power of this unique region of the earth.

Patagonia is not only one of the richest regions of the world in the biodiversity of plants, it is also rich in plant experts...naturalists, biologists, botanists, herbalists, ethnobotanists, agronomists live here to study, research and teach. We will have presentations and walks in the wild with people who will identify the medicinal, edible and useful plants of the region: endemic, indigenous and exotic. We will interact with the local indigenous people, the Mapuche and Huelches, to connect to the most ancient wisdom of our ancestors regarding useful plants and earth ceremonies

United Plant Savers Seeking Executive Director

United Plant SaversAfter six years of nurturing United Plant Savers to a place of solidity in its finances and programs, Lynda LeMole is stepping aside as Executive Director.  Lynda will be handing over the day-to-day running of the organization so that she can focus on the projects that call to her particular passions and expertise.  We are looking to our UpS friends to help us in our search for a new Executive Director who will carry UpS's mission onward into the next green chapters.

United Plant Savers is Seeking a Full Time Executive Director.

Brief description of United Plant Savers (UpS):

UpS is a non-profit 501.3(c) membership organization founded in 1994.  Our mission is to protect native medicinal plants of the United States and Canada and their native habitat while ensuring an abundant renewable supply of medicinal plants for generations to come.  Our current annual budget is approximately $150,000, exclusive of grant income.  We steward and own a 360-acre botanical sanctuary in the Appalachian Mts. of Rutland, Ohio.
