A Plant Lovers Journey to Hawaii

With Rosemary Gladstar

Plant Lovers Journey Hawaii

Sorry, we wont be offering this wonderful trip in 2007, but stay tuned... We'll be offering it again for sure in the near future...

Join Rosemary Gladstar for an unforgettable experience on the Big Island of Hawaii. The Big Isle, home to humpback whales, a huge variety of plant life, and the world’s most active volcano is a place filled with the spirit of Aloha and a haven for nature lovers. The islands’ diverse climate zones and wide range of habitats provide an ideal setting for us to explore the remarkable diversity of nature, our relationship to the healing world of plants, and our innate place in the great web of life. While enjoying the tranquility and beauty of Hawaii, we’ll meet with local herbalists and traditional healers, pilgrimage to sacred sites, and participate in the traditional culture of Hawaii.

Hawaii offers one of the most diverse eco-systems in the world

The plant life here is rich and lush and diverse. Come drink in the Green and be deeply nourished!

A Sampling of Places We’ll Visit & Things We’ll Do

The volcano is honored by the Hawaiians as the home of the fire goddess Pele and her power is undeniable when in her great and fiery presence. Hawaii’s Volcanoes National Park has been honored as an International Biosphere Reserve and a World Heritage Site.
Hike the Kohala Ditch Trail
This magnificent hike takes us to a 500-foot waterfall, and to the back of lush Pololu Valley.
Visit the City of Refuge
This sacred heiau (Hawaiian temple) is still used in the present day for Hawaiian ceremony, chanting, dancing, and praying.
Explore an ancient Hawaiian village
Just minutes from our lodging is an extensive system of Hawaiian ruins complete with burial caves and healing stones.

Plant Lovers Journey Hawaii
Our accommodations will delight.
We will be staying 7 nights in North Kohala just outside of the quaint little village of Hawi and 2 nights near the fishing village of Hilo on the south side of the island. Our coastal accommodations have sweeping views of the ocean and sunset. The main lodge, set in a secluded tropical landscape, has a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, and rare orchid and rose gardens. The food offered will be the finest of island style: local, fresh and delicious with vegetarian and meat/fish options. There will be plenty of opportunity to soak up the sun, lounge in a hammock under a coconut palm, walked the sandy beaches, stretch and do yoga in the mornings, spend time alone, and directly experience the great mystery.

“In the time of your life live. Live so that in that wondrous time you shall not add to the sorrow & misery of the word, but shall smile to the infinite delight and mystery of it.
