A Letter From Rosemary

Spring Greetings Greetings...

Spring is stirring, subtle still on this Mountain, but I feel it in my bones when I walk through the frozen woodlands and over the snowy places where the gardens still slumber. The cycle of light and growth is returning…. With the recent events in the world, it brings to heart even more deeply how important it is that we hold the light in our beings and learn what we must about living lightly upon this earth. The plants are among our best teachers. And reminding people how to be in relationship with plants, how to enter into their green world to receive their sacred teachings is as powerful a `medicine’ as one can learn/teach at this time on earth. This is the heart of what we continue to share at Sage Mountain ~ an opportunity to enter into the green world, to recognize the teachings that are so abundantly and joyfully offered there, and to train compassionate skilled herbalists who understand the depth of plant medicine.

In our daily walk through life, if we remember to ‘slow down to smell the flowers’, to breathe in deeply the pure oxygen of the plants that sustain us, to draw substance from the enduring heart beat of nature and to listen to the wise teachings of the elders, we will find renewal and hope no matter how solemn the world appears. We truly were born for these times and all the tools we need are within reach, in our hearts and in the heartbeat of the world around us.

In this spirit of hope and renewal we offer another year of classes, teachings, and inner exploration on this wild and beautiful mountain. We invite you to join us, or to join any of the other wonderful circles of people who are teaching, growing, working in this fertile grassroots network for the plants and Gaia, the living earth. We welcome in this new season and all that it may bring, all the transformation and holiness that awaits, the challenges, the gifts, the totally unanticipated unexpected events that will surely unfold in this celebration of life.

In the Spirit of the Plants,
